Sabino Canyon Volunteer Naturalists (SCVN) is dedicated to helping people of all ages appreciate the beauty and wonder of Sabino Canyon. They honor each volunteer who has passed away on the memorial wall titled "Gneiss Memories. 

When SCVN first approached Donor Recognition Art, they requested a design that would complement the Friends of Sabino Canyon Donor Walls on the same site while still being distinctive to their own mission. Initially, blank tiles are attached to the panels with magnets, and when a volunteer passes, their name is permanently affixed to the wall.
